OUT STANDING FEATURES FOR 4 – ROLL HYDRAULIC INITIAL PINCH  PLATE BENDING ROLL

MAIN DRIVE:

This function is accomplished by the use of highly efficient hydraulic radial piston motors driving planetary gearboxes directly coupled to rollers via torque fuses. Top roll and pinch roll gearbox ratio is 25:1.The top roll drive has  a hydraulic brake installed.

 

HYDRAULIC SYSTEM:

The hydraulic system consists of variable displacement hydrostatic piston pump with a variable displacement piston pump attached via threw shaft. The attached piston pump  provides oil for  hydraulic form, pinch and drop-arm cylinders functions. Solenoid operated valves of the NFPA standard, hydraulic fittings and hoses of standard JIC specification.

The hydraulic pinch roll and form rolls are synchronized end to end for parallel movement to top roll. The synchronization of rolls end to end is accomplished via hydraulic proportional valves controlled by PLC, the PLC receives signals from linear displacement transducers, the PLC compares roll position end to end and corrects by sending an output to the proportional valves. The control system also allows tilting of pinch and form rolls.  

ROLLS AND BEARINGS:

Pinch roll and form rolls are machined from forged 1040/1045. Top roll machined from forged Cr/Mo steel. All rolls are crowned for the capacity of the machine. Crowning compensates for the deflection of the rolls under load. All rolls ride in spherical roller bearings requiring very low maintenance.

ROLL POSITION READOUT  AND WITH SYSTEM MONITORING:

The position of pinch and form rolls are displayed on a back lighted Touch Panel on the moveable operator control panel. The Touch Panel is also used to monitor the system pressure, forming pressure ,pinch pressure and roll drive pressure. The touch panel is protected by a clear acrylic cover.

                                                                                                                                                                 

CONSTRUCTION:                                                                                                                       

This machine is all steel welded construction. Bearing blocks are machined from solid steel plate. No castings are used in the construction ensuring ease of repair or modification if required. Bearing frames are fabricated from 50 mm carbon steel plate of 36,000 psi min yield strength. .Machine base is a fabricated beam structure from welded steel plates of various thickness 25 mm to 50mm

DROP ARM:

Removal of the finished cylinder is accomplished at the operator’s pendant by push button. The drop arm is moved open and closed by a hydraulic cylinder that is locked in place with a pilot operated check valve.

MOTORS AND ELECTRICS:

ABB flange face electric motor is used. Oil tight enclosure with I.E.C rated motor starters and control components are used. The control circuit is 24VDC for operator safety. A safety cable that runs the length of the roll both front and rear of the machine is standard equipment.
